Do you know for certain that you have eternal life and that you will go to heaven when you die?

God wants you to be sure.

1. God's purpose is that we have eternal life.
    a. We receive eternal life as a free gift. Romans 6:23
    b. We can live a full and meaningful life right now. John 14:3
    c. We will spend eternity with Jesus in Heaven. John 10:10

2. Our sinful nature keeps us from fulfilling God's purpose.
    a. We are all sinners by nature and by choice. Romans 3:23
    b. We cannot save ourselves. Ephesians 2:9
    c. We deserve death and hell. Romans 6:23

3. The good news is that God has provided forgiveness of our sins through Jesus Christ.
    a. Jesus is God and became man. John 1:1, 14
    b. Jesus died for us on the cross. 1 Peter 3:18
    c. Jesus was resurrected from the dead. Romans 4:25

4. Our response is to receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord.
    a. We must repent of our sins. Acts 3:19
    b. We must place our faith in Jesus. Ephesians 2:8
        Faith is trusting in Jesus

Romans 10:13 says, "for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Romans 10:9-10 says, "if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."
