More than 300 men and boys braved the rain, wind and storms March 1st to attend the annual wild game Dinner sponsored by Andrews First Baptist Church. The event wast held at Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters for the second year. The men of First Baptist provided such delicacies as squirrel, deer, wild hog, and bear. Also there was ostrich, alligator, antelope, buffalo, rabbit, frog legs and "wild chicken" on the menu.




After the wonderful meal everyone moved to the auditorium for an evening of fun and fellowship starting with music from local resident Sonny Reighard and his group. Then Andrews native and former major league baseball manager, Dave Bristol introduced this years guest speaker, former New York Yankee second baseman, Bobby Richardson. Mr. Richardson shared stories of his experiences during his career in baseball and he also shared his testimony of his faith in Jesus Christ and invited those in attendance to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior through a personal relationship. "We had 15 men and boys who prayed to received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. That is the one and only purpose of our wild game dinners. We want men and boys to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ," Pastor Tommy Lamb said.




Afterwards door prizes donated by businesses were given out including a 20 gauge Remington to Tyler Edwards, a 12 gauge Remington won by Brent Gibson and a Richard Petty Driving Experience won by Chip Bush of Fletcher, NC. The shotguns were donated by Higdon Paving of Andrews and the Richard Petty Driving Experience was donated by Rightway Drywall of Macon, Ga.
This is the third year in a row that the wild game dinner has been held and is now held yearly at the end of February.
